During its 19 years of operation, over 500 promising 8th graders have attended a week-long camp emphasizing learning leadership skills through adventure activities, discussions with local community leaders, and learning to plan a service project. Using Maryville College, the Mountain Challenge, Maryville Kiwanis members recruit the campers, organize the schedule, and provide enrichment activities.
